Kejriwal's resignation

  • Political rivals call it a cheap publicity stunt...to gain something bigger
  • Political analysts call it an excuse to focus more on LS polls...to gain something bigger
  • AAP says it is about renunciation(of Power) and taking moral responsibility. That the above folks cannot fathom this concept. It seems unthinkable to them that something can be done WITHOUT some bigger motive in mind. I agree about these other folks...but the issue is not their response, but his resignation.

Interviewers should pose the simple question to Arvind Kejriwal: "How exactly does your resignation help the state/nation?" If he goes on about taking moral responsibility - thank him for his intentions, but ask him to do what is done when 'taking moral responsibility' : APOLOGIZE for his failure.

He will not - as was evident
from his own resignation speech. You would expect regret, of having failed your people, apologies. Instead, there was just blame. How the evil congress and BJP colluded to bring down the noble AAP. He WOULD have succeeded, had it not been for THEM. Who took what responsibility here? So "moral responsibility" is a sham

Secondly - One resigns because you think you are not good enough, and to make way for someone better. Does he think there is a better option? He infact thinks/says that the state would go to the dogs under congress/BJP. So why resign? If he does not  WANT power, why fight elections? To show that he does not CARE about power? But the people who gave it to him do! Its about the state, not about him/AAP! Power or politics are not bad. The way they are used is.

Thirdly - maybe it is good in a way to go for re-election. I think the people will fall for his talks and bring them to (stronger) power. And they will be able to do deliver better.

But integrity demands that a) apologize for their failure to not deliver in face of lower numbers. That's moral responsibility b) To say that they want re-elections for stronger power, not its renunciation. That's integrity. c) Their inability to work with what they have right now. That's accountability.
If you dont get the above, you are forced to choose between someone who cannot deliver because their intentions come in the way, and another who wont deliver because their ego comes in the way.
Of course, AAPs retort would be that they HAVE delivered what others haven't in years. But then they should say THAT, and express their intention to do MORE, but apologize for their weakness in not being able to do so with the current state. That they WANT power, in fact they want MORE of it - so as to give more. That's OK!!

The current bunch of politicians cannot understand that one can do something, without "power" being the end goal. AAP does not understand that its ok to want power - as long as its not the end goal. You cannot make the best of something that you are 'ashamed' of to begin with.
